Migrant Neighbor Initiative
OUR WORK
Sustainable impact through local empowerment.
In response to Massachusetts reaching its shelter capacity and the dire needs observed in our communities, our church has actively expanded our sanctuary network efforts initiated in 2016. This has included supporting long-established individuals facing deportation threats, such as a Salvadorean man, and assisting a family seeking asylum—a mother fleeing domestic violence with her two children. Recognizing the underutilization of our former rectory, we transformed it back into a home. We currently house 25 individuals there, providing more than just shelter, but a foundation to rebuild their lives in Boston.

Employment Prep for All
Every family we've assisted has engaged in the Mass Hire process, preparing them for successful entry into the local workforce with necessary job placement tools and resources.
Weekly Educational Programs
In collaboration with the Immigrant Family Services Institute, we provide ESL and computer classes to not only the 8 families we house but to about 220 immigrants each week. Our educational services are expanding to include workforce training programs like Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training to further enhance employment opportunities for our participants.
