Dr. Christine E. Pierre is a board-certified physician specializing in geriatric and family medicine and currently serves as Associate Medical Director of the Extended Care Community Care Program at Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH). Previously, she served as a Geriatric Primary Care Physician with Beth Israel Deaconess HealthCare’s Extended Care Community Program, where her work focused on caring for older adults with complex health needs in long-term care and community settings. Dr. Pierre completed her medical training at Ross University School of Medicine, followed by residency training in Family Medicine at UMass Memorial Medical Center and advanced fellowship training in Geriatric Medicine.
Throughout her career, Dr. Pierre has focused on the health and well-being of older adults, addressing the physical, cognitive and social issues that affect people as they age. Her work also extends to health equity, racial disparities, unconscious bias and culturally responsive care for older adults. She has presented to professional audiences on healthcare disparities, systemic racism, microaggressions, advocacy and health equity.
Dr. Pierre brings together clinical expertise in healthy aging, primary care and health equity with a practical understanding of the challenges and opportunities women encounter as they grow older. Her perspective encourages women to approach aging not simply as a medical process, but as a stage of life that can be navigated with knowledge, confidence, purpose and vitality.
