2026 Corporate Fast

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Bethel is entering this year with a deeper, more intentional focus on Fasting. Our Lenten season is the perfect opportunity to be on one accord and seek the face of the Lord as one body. We are almost certain that everyone believes that the times we are living in are truly perilous and compels us to be more intentional, persistent, and frequent in our prayers. We are interceding together on behalf of our community and our country. Therefore, as a church family, we are engaging in a season of fasting and prayer throughout Lent (February 18- April 5). However, specifically during March 1- April 5th, we will be joined together in a 30-day corporate fast and prayer practice.

This is a call, not a requirement, inviting all members and friends of Bethel to participate in fasting and increased prayer in ways that are spiritually meaningful and physically responsible.

No. Participation is voluntary. Each person is encouraged to fast as they are led by God, physically able, and only after consulting with their physician.

1. The corporate fast runs from March 1st to April 5th. It will end on Resurrection Sunday.

2. You may start on March 1st, or begin at any point during the 36-day period.

3. We believe God will bless your participation in this sacrificial journey whenever you are able to join.

You may choose:

• A fast from a practice ( TV, social media, overspending, etc.)

• A fast from a particular food

• To join many of the Bethel members in doing the Daniel Fast for the entire 36-day period (details to come)

• You may fast from food or from other activities or distractions.

The key is intentional prayer and spiritual focus. Please consult the Lord and your physician before starting this Fast. This fast is not about perfection—it is about pursuit. As we seek the Lord together, we trust that God will give clarity, direction, renewal, and power for what lies ahead.

We are fasting in response to the Word of God, as presented in 2 Chronicles 7:14. This is a season of:

• Intercession/Supplication

• Seeking the face of God

• Spiritual growth

• Reflecting on the call of God on our lives

Fasting together strengthens our faith, our unity, and our intercessory practice. Scripture teaches that agreement in prayer is powerful and honored by God.

You are encouraged to pray as the Holy Spirit leads. Additionally, as a church, we are asking for prayer regarding:

• That lives would be transformed through Jesus Christ.

• Growth in discipleship and spiritual maturity among members.

You may begin at any time during the 36-day period. We welcome your participation whenever you are led and able.
